On March 2, 2021, Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order (GA-34) lifting the mask mandate in Texas. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, this means that "no person may be required by any jurisdiction to wear or mandate the wearing of a face covering."
Businesses, higher education institutions, and other establishments may require employees, students, and customers to wear masks or other face coverings, and "legally authorized official[s] may act to enforce trespassing laws and remove violators" who refuse to comply with those requirements.
As of March 3, 2021, "To ensure a safe learning and teaching environment, Tarrant County College will continue to follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines. Employees, students and visitors to TCC campuses and facilities will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. This action is in compliance with the discretion permitted within the State and County executive orders that were issued March 2, 2021."
