GOVT 2305 TR Killingsworth: Find Books

Search for books in the library

Ready to search the library catalog for books, e-books, and videos?

You can locate books, videos, and audiobooks in any of the TCC libraries by using the search bar below.  Enter the name of the law or amendment and click Search to begin.  TIP:  Try searching by topic or keyword instead of limiting yourself to the name of the legislation.  Combine search terms with AND to get more precise results.

  • For example, try "voting rights" AND "United States"
  • Or, voting AND military AND "United States"
  • Or, voting AND disability AND legislation

Request a book from another campus

A book at any of the TCCD Libraries may be delivered to any other campus library by simply requesting it through our online catalog. Typically books are delivered within 1-3 days, and you will receive an email to your MyTCC email address when it is available.

  1. Locate the book you want in the Library Catalog.
  2. In the search results, click the title of the item to be borrowed.
  3. Under Item Locations, click Sign in (if you aren't already signed in.)
  4. Sign in using your WebAdvisor username and password.
  5. Once you are signed in, a Request option appears next to Campus Locations. Click Request.
  6. Choose your campus under Pickup Location. If your campus is not listed, then the item is already on your campus. You can simply go to your campus library and check it out!
  7. If you have a deadline, choose a date in the Not Needed After drop down list.
  8. Enter any comments for the librarians, if needed.
  9. Click the Request button.
  10. You will be notified via your MyTCC email when your item is ready to be picked up.

Reading Call Numbers

Most academic libraries use the Library of Congress (LC) classification system to organize their materials. Each item is labeled with an LC call number which acts like an address for the book. The call number indicates exactly where the book is located on the library shelves. Find the call number in parentheses immediately after the name of the library when looking at the information about a particular book.
