Lunar New Year marks the first day of the lunisolar calendar, and this year, occurs on February 1, 2022. This year is the Year of the Tiger, as determined by the Chinese Zodiac. Lunar New Year is also called Spring Festival because it occurs between the Winter Solstice and Vernal Equinox.
Lunar New Year is sometimes known as Chinese New Year, but the holiday is celebrated by millions of people in many different countries, including Korea, Vietnam, and Singapore.
