Federal Government (NE): Websites

Word of Caution!

Not all instructors allow the use of internet sites as references.   Check with your professor to be sure you are allowed to use websites for your research.

Searching Google

When browsing Google remember:

  1. The more specific your keywords (business management vs. business), the better your result list will be.

  2. Use available search tools to narrow your results.

Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate

Keep in mind that anyone can post anything on the Internet.  Use the PARC method for evaluating websites.

  • Is the website seeking to entertain, inform, persuade, or sell to you?

  • What are the credentials of the author, sponsors, etc.?

  • Are you able to find the same information elsewhere?

  • Is the information current for your topic?
