Texas Women Writers: Activities/Events

In celebration of Women’s History Month Theatre Southeast will feature two one-act plays: Trifles by Susan Glaspell & Laundry and Bourbon by James McClure.

The 6th Annual Triesha Light Women's Symposium and Women's History Month Luncheon will include several student presentations, a keynote address delivered by Anette Landeros, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Wanda K. Hill Memorial Scholarship Award presentations.

Join us as we learn some basic self-defense techniques from Shane Whitehead, Instructional Associate, 4th Degree Black Belt, Ga San Ryu Kenpo.

This presentation will consist of a keynote address by State Representative Nicole Collier. Representative Collier will be discussing the challenges that women face in both the private and public sectors along with ways to overcome them.

The History Department presents a showing of, “Battle of the Sexes” followed by Q&A. In the rise of the women's movement, this 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs became one of the most watched televised sports events of all time.

Student Activities and Student Accessibility Resources present, "Temple Grandin", a biopic of a woman with autism who has become one of the top scientists in the humane livestock handling industry.

This event features six amazing women presenting original spoken word, performance poems, and creative writing. This is an LIVE performance of their highly anticipated showcase.
