Explore the often untold Black History of Dallas! From the amazing miracle of the bricks in former Freedman's Town to Ray Charles' former home...to infamous Martyrs Park and the post-Civil War former plantation/community of Joppi.

Celebrate the contributions of African-American heroes with the Black History Month events in Dallas. This annual celebration is marked with loads of interesting events; from luncheons to art lessons, there are too many things to do on Black History Month in Dallas. Be a part of the biggest African-American History Month Parade in Dallas, volunteer or contribute your services at a church near you; do anything and everything that celebrates the African-American culture

The theme for 2022 focuses on the importance of Black Health and Wellness. We will take a look at different topics such as the disparity in access to quality health care that negatively impacted African Americans centuries ago; desegregation in hospitals, and also talking about the Obama administration creating the Affordable Care Act that provided better access to health care for Americans of all colors.
