Pompeii: The life of a Roman town.: Roman architecture

With the Vesuvius eruption on August 24, 69 AD, a Roman town was frozen in time, revealing the intimate side of a Roman citizen's life, from entertainment to homelife and personal religious expression.

After looking at the tabs you thought I skipped the military? Au contraire, it was the Roman legions who build the town. All towns started as Roman forts. They are all designed the same and called Castrum. Watch the videos on this procedure and see what I mean. Oh, and occasionally the legions fought, but mostly they built roads, forts, and towns, and looked vaguely intimidating. Before the later empire, the legions were also not allowed to marry, but its clear they did this as well.
