TCC students have the option to earn the Information Literacy certificate by attending an in-person workshop OR completing the online workshop through Canvas.
IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS:
All in-person Information Literacy Workshops are held in TREF 1302, the same floor as the cafeteria and Main Street, across the hall from the Writing Center. In-person workshops are 3 hours and are taught by Trinity River Campus librarians.
Advance registration is highly encouraged to guarantee your spot. Walk-ins will be admitted (if space is available) on a first-come, first-served basis. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to add your name to the walk-in list if you are unable to register in advance.
Due to staffing shortages, there will be no face to face Information Literacy classes until further notice.
ONLINE WORKSHOPS:
Online workshops consist of a series of lessons and videos in Canvas. Once you are registered, you complete the lessons at your own pace to earn the Information Literacy certificate. The length of time required to complete the online Information Literacy Workshop will vary for each student.

The online Information Literacy Workshop covers the same content and objectives as the in-person workshop, but it is asynchronous. That means that you can read the material and watch the videos anytime!
To get started with the online Information Literacy Workshop, complete the registration form linked above. A librarian will add the Information Literacy Workshop to your Canvas courses within 48 hours.

If you have misplaced your Information Literacy certificate, stop by the Fulkerson Library to get a wallet-sized replacement card.
