General Information

  • Learn with Learning Commons
    • Find out how the library, tutoring centers, and Supplemental Instruction can help you succeed in your courses!
  • Taste of Tutoring
    • Learn more about specific tutoring centers through this encouraging and informational workshop that provides a tour of tutoring centers, a meet-and-greet with discipline-specific tutors, and tutoring demonstrations.

Computer Support

NOTE: All Computer Learning workshops should be scheduled in computer labs.

  • Using the TCC Cloud (VDI)
    • Learn to use TCC Cloud from anywhere with internet access, gaining access to useful desktop programs such as Microsoft, Adobe, web browsers, and more.
  • MS OneDrive
    • Take an introductory tour of Microsoft OneDrive to safely store and share course assignments and work files in one convenient location, promoting collaboration on assignments.
  • Clarifying CHAOS (Canvas, Homework, Online Systems) 
    • Learn to access and navigate Canvas and organize your homework using OneDrive.

Language Support

  • Spanish Nouns and Pronouns
    • Practice nouns and pronouns such as people, numbers, gender, and formality of nouns and pronouns.
  • To Be or To Be?: Ser and Estar in the Context of Communication
    • Learn when to use the Spanish verbs "Ser" and "Estar" in the context of communicating about yourself and others.

Math Support

  • Factoring Quadratic Expressions
    • Students will gain an understanding of what is factoring and its applications. Students will learn about the different techniques for factoring and to apply them.
  • Algebra Function & Transformation
    • Students will be equipped with the skills to recognize and apply various transformations to common functions, enabling them to graph functions with sequential transformations, predict graphs from equations, and write equations from graphs.
  • Preparing for Calculus I
    • This workshop is designed to strengthen students' foundational skills in algebra and trigonometry. This supportive and skill-building workshop helps students gain the confidence and preparation needed to succeed in Calculus I.

Science Support

  • Basic Chemistry for Life Science Students
    • This workshop will cover the basics of chemistry for students in Anatomy and Physiology, Biology and Microbiology courses via engaged learning activities. Topics covered: atoms, subatomic particles, chemical bonds, and polarity.
  • Dimensional Analysis and Unit Conversions
    • Students will learn how to set up and solve unit conversion problems using dimensional analysis.

  • Test Prep: Test Taking Skills
    • Gear up for your next exam by attending a test prep workshop that focuses on general test prep skills. This workshop provides study strategies, tips, and tools for success in your exams.
  • Notes U Will Use
    • Learn how (and why) to take notes you will actually use.
  • Gamify Your Flashcards
    • Beat the boredom of regular flashcards! Learn to gamify your paper or online flashcards so they are fun and effective.

    • Prepare for your next essay by reviewing the correct page formatting and citation of an APA document.
  • MLA Formatting: 9th Edition
    • Prepare for your next essay by reviewing the correct page formatting of an MLA document.
  • MLA In-Text Citations: 9th Edition
    • Take your MLA knowledge to the next step by learning the proper formatting for in-text citations and the works cited page.
  • Writing a Scholarship Essay
    • Learn how to write a scholarship essay and explore key concepts to help you master scholarship prompts and make a memorable impression on your personal statement.
  • Getting Started with Research
    • Learn essential research skills such as developing keywords and brainstorming topics to get started with any research assignment.
  • Escape Misinformation: A Live-Action-Adventure Game
    • Solve a series of puzzles to help you think critically about online information. Interact with various deceptive tactics - manipulated charts, bot accounts, and deepfakes - to build resilience to misinformation.
