Need any help?

Hello, future nurses!

This website was created to help you with the kind of research you will need to do in while you're in school-as well as in your career.  I've tried to include everything I think you'll need to find your resources.  After that, it's up to you.

In addition to research help, I've added a bunch of neat information you may need as you progress through your career.

If I have forgotten ANYTHING or if anything is unclear, please let me know!  All of my contact information is on this

page.  Please contact me if you need help with anything; I am YOUR librarian as long as you are here at TRC (and

beyond, if you like).  It is my absolute pleasure to work with you!

Librarians are also available for individual research assistance!  Just contact me and let me know what time is good

for you, and you'll have my undivided attention!

Library Orientation Info

Here is a copy of the workbook I give out at the nursing library orientation.  Please let me know if you would like to see anything added to it or changed for clarity.

Welcome to your Nursing Libguide

A big welcome to our student nurses, and thank you for visiting our Nursing Libguide.

I am your Weekend Public Services Librarian who provides research assistance and information literacy instruction to faculty and students on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Originally from Nashville, TN, I have a background as a Sales Trainer who moved into the Human Resources field, and possess undergraduate degrees in Business Administration-Marketing and Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

I married a Texan in 2007, moved to the Fort Worth area, and decided to become a Reference Librarian (more on that story when you visit me in the library!). While pursuing my Masters in Library Science, I completed four additional medical reference courses, and added a Certificate of Evidence-based Health Science Librarianship to my MLS.

If you need assistance with research for your course assignments, tips on how to navigate the medical databases, choosing an assignment topic, or just want to stop by for a chat, I would be delighted to be of assistance. I am always interested in learning what led our students to the nursing profession, as I have many family members who pursued nursing as a career.

I wish you success in your academic pursuits and future nursing career, and shall look forward to meeting you soon.

Linda
