According to the TCC Student Code of Conduct, "plagiarism" includes, but is not limited to, the use, by paraphrase or direct quotation, of the published or unpublished work of another person without clear and full acknowledgment. It also includes the unacknowledged use of materials prepared by another person or agency engaged in the selling of term papers and other academic materials.
Plagiarism and its consequences are easy to avoid!
1. Do your own work.
2. Acknowledge other people's work. (How? Cite it!)
The TCC Library MLA Plagiarism Tutorial will teach you how to properly cite and paraphrase information. Please see the resources below for more information. If you have any questions or concerns, ask your instructor, a librarian, or a writing tutor for help.
The Reading Writing Resource Center can help you with citation questions. Please see their guide for all the ways to contact and meet with a writing tutor.
