BUSG 2300 SO Dickey: Using SEC Information

This guide will help you with your group project for Professor Dickey's Business 2300 class.

The SEC Homepage

You can also find information about your company on the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) Website:

On the SEC Website

Once you get to the SEC homepage, try clicking the link for FILINGS.  You can take the EDGAR tutorial or simply click on Search For Company Filings.  Since you are searching for information on a particular company, click the link for Company or fund name, ticker symbol, CIK (Central Index Key), file number, state, country, or SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) .  Then enter your company name or one of the other pieces of information from the list.

For example, search for Southwest Airlines or J C Penney.

Once you have your results, try finding the 10K form to find the most recent annual information filed by the company to the SEC.
