History Information Literacy

Guide Context for Faculty

This guide was created in collaboration with Connect's Instructional Designers to offer embedded information literacy tutorials and activities in History 1301 and 1302. This research guide integrates the ACRL Information Literacy Framework into the course learning objectives for History 1301/1302.

Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning (ACRL, 2016).

Canvas modules with assignments and activities that align to the content in this guide are available in the Instructional Resources Hub

If you would like to request asynchronous, online, or in-person research instruction for your course, please complete the Research Instruction Request form and your Liaison Librarian will contact you.

This research guide and its pages can be embedded directly into your Canvas course. For step-by-step directions to embed a research (LibGuide) into Canvas, visit the Research Guides in Canvas page
