The purpose of a scientific poster is to summarize and visually present information to generate interest and discussion. This means you will use slightly different skills to make a successful poster compared to a standard research paper, including potentially creating your own graphs, figures, and more. Since your text will be limited, every word counts, so you should plan to spend more time editing and revising than you might with a paper.
